Shirley A. Bluhm, 80
Shirley A. Bluhm, age 80 of Waterville, died on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Born on June 10, 1936 in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Theodore and Helen (Boldt) Kewatt. She graduated from Le Center High School. On April 23, 1955, Shirley married Arlie Bluhm at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilkenny. Through the years Shirley worked at various locations retiring from the Waterville Good Samaritan Center having worked there as a cook for twenty five years. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, going out to eat, and following the grandkids activities. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Debrah Bluhm and Connie Bluhm both of Waterville; five grandchildren, Jamie (Scott) Otting, Tyrel (Melissa) Wendt, Orrin Wendt (friend, Meghan Kern), Leanne (Brent) Kavitz, and Kayla Wendt (fiancé, Dylan Chabot); six great grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Talon Otting, Dylan McWaters, Urijah and Ashlynn Wendt; siblings, Betty Braun of Montgomery, Charles (JoAnn) Kewatt of Columbia Heights, Donald Kewatt of Kilkenny, Joan Bruns of Elysian, and Jerry (LaVonne) Kewatt of Calhan, CO; sister-in-law, Jeanette Kewatt of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation were held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. and continued one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Burial followed at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville. dennisfuneralhomes.com
