Skating rinks in New Prague now open

    New Prague’s skating rinks opened for the season on Thursday, Dec. 27.
    According to Parks Supervisor Jim Calliguri, the rinks are open during regular park hours, daily until 11 p.m.
    Sliding Hill Skate Park, east of New Prague High School, is home to two rinks, a rink for open hockey and a regular skating rink. The warming house at those rinks is open daily from 10 am. to 9 p.m. now through January 1, 2013. Beginning January 2, when school resumes, hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. on school days and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
    The open hours at the warming house could be reduced depending on weather conditions.
    Calliguri said there is also a skating rink, but no warming house, at Settler’s Park, in the southwestern portion of the city.
