Snowmobile clubs to host open house

In an effort to acquaint area snowmobilers about the many benefits of joining a local club, three area snowmobile clubs will host an open house for new members from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Union Hill Bar.

Complimentary appetizers will be served and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about each club from current members of the New Prague Snow Drifters, Montgomery SnoBusters and Lonsdale Snowizards.

All three clubs work to install and maintain dozens of miles of grant-in-aid (GIA) snowmobile trails in Rice, Scott and LeSueur counties each winter.

According to Steve Bethke, member of the Snow Drifters and a Regional Director with the Minnesota United Snowmobile Association (MnUSA), joining a club is the best decision a snowmobiler can do to help assure there will be trails to ride on during the winter months.
