Softball team wins Section 2AA opener

The WEM softball team, seeded fifth in Section 2AA, defeated Sibley East 5-4 Tuesday in the opening round of post-season play. The win moves WEM into the double elimination portion of the Section 2AA Tourney. The Bucs (15-5) will travel to No. 4 seed Fairmont (14-5) Thursday at 5 p.m. Win or lose they will play at noon Saturday at Caswell Park in Mankato.
