Spelling Bee ends with a vengeance
The 2017 WEM School District Spelling Bee ended with a vengeance Thursday night, Jan. 12.
Eighth grader Matthew Cherro, son of Joshua and Shauna Cherro, and seventh grader Kiri Kerekes, daughter of James and Katherine Kerekes, spelled their way into the final, championship round of the contest after an impressive performance.
Cherro ultimately claimed the championship by correctly spelling “vengeance.”
