Sports teams have great weekend

It was a great weekend for New Prague High School sports teams. The boys hockey team defeated Holy Angels 4-3, breaking a 21-year losing streak to the perennial Missota Conference power. The girls hockey team also defeated Holy Angels. The wrestling team went 6-0, including a win against rival Prior Lake (No. 9, Class AAA), winning the Highway 13 Collision traveling trophy for the first time ever. The girls basketball team defeated Red Wing (No. 9, Class AAA). The boys basketball team won two games, both in overtime, against Red Wing and Alexandria, and the gymnastics team topped 144 points twice in two days, losing to Northfield (No. 1, Class AA) and winning the Jackson County Central tournament.
