Stella Vlasak

Stella M. Vlasak, ­­­­88, of Montgomery, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Visitation was on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery and one hour prior to Mass. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, May 17 at 11 a.m. with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment was held at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Luncheon followed at Holy Redeemer Church basement.
  Stella was born on December 4, 1928, to Martin and Mary (Franek) Novotny in Helena Township in rural New Prague. Stella was united in marriage to Edward Vlasak on November 8, 1947, at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague. Stella and Edward started farming, and she still lived on the farm until her passing.
  Stella was a member of Holy Redeemer CCW, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Degree of Honor, and the Miss Czech Slovak MN Pageant Committee. She was also a bloodmobile volunteer, member of the Once a Month Crafters, Holy Redeemer Church Festival Committee, mission sewing, and was a Le Sueur County Outstanding Senior Citizen. 
Stella enjoyed baking for her children and grandchildren, flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards.
  Stella is survived by children, Dennis (Carole) Vlasak of Maple Grove, David Vlasak of Montgomery, Carol (Ken) Ernsteof Faribault, Edward “Butch” (Deb) Vlasak of Montgomery, Gary Vlasak of Montgomery, Lori Edberg of Burnsville, Joe (Sharon) Vlasak of Montgomery, and Barb (Paul) Schneider of Lakeville; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, and three brothers.
Stella is preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward; son, Charles Vlasak; one brother and one sister.
