Storms topple trees in the area
Rain, lightening and high winds hit New Prague over the Labor Day weekend. Several thunderstorms rolled through New Prague on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3 and 4, beginning a severe storm that caused tornado warning sirens to be sounded Saturday afternoon. The various waves brought up to 5 inches of rain in the area and high winds caused damage to trees throughout New Prague. Violent storms also knocked down trees and caused damage throughout Rice County and Lonsdale.
