Sympathy, prayers, and hopefully some answers!

The horrible things happening around the world have most peace-loving people in a state of disbelief, as we witness the killing of innocent people by terrorists who apparently have totally different value systems with no regard for human life.

We’ve said it before and we’ ll say it again: Our thoughts and prayers are with the French people and all others who have been affected by these terrible attacks.

We can only be hopeful that the leadership of all peace-loving peoples will continue their efforts to rid the world of the violence.

Titans Were Tough!

Our TCU Titan football team had a great run this year, all the way to the state playoffs before losing in the semifinals.

The school, representing three communities (Montgomery-Lonsdale-Le Center) can be proud of the accomplishments of Coach Helland and his troops throughout the season and beyond.

It’s amazing what a successful program can do in terms of statewide recognition and appreciation of their efforts. And that recognition and pride can also apply to other programs, such as the various girls and boys athletics, academics, the arts, etc.

People just might be realizing that Tri-City United means just that — three proud school communities with a common purpose!

Great Job Titans!

Now This Is Amazing—

Every fall, millions of monarch butterflies head south from Canada and the United States to their winter digs in Michoacan, Mexico; here they make strange shapes on the trees in the region’s Sierra Chincua preserve. Scientists didn’t discover the monarchs’ wintering grounds until 1975—and they still don’t understand how the winged things know where to go. Sadly, they’re in decline, occupying a record low 2.9 acres, down from some 22 acres a decade ago.

A Laugh For Teachers

With schools in session, there are some really cute little expressions that come from the mouths of youngsters, and some are really worthy of publication.

As a teacher welcomed her first grade students into the classroom, one little girl noticed her polka dot blouse and paid her the ultimate first grade compliment: “Oh, you look so beautiful—just like a clown!”
