Take time to remember

There are three days left until Christmas and there is so much to do.

The house needs to be cleaned to get ready for holiday guests.

There’s that last minute shopping to find that perfect gift for your spouse, your child, your parents.

Don’t forget to stop at the grocery store for all the trimmings for your Christmas feast.

You still have some decorating left to do to make sure the house is in a festive mood.

And you need to stop off at your aunt’s across town and drop off that package.

And let’s not even talk about those Christmas cards that need to get in the mail.

Christmas is a busy time. There’s so much to do that people don’t have the chance to relax and enjoy the season. They don’t have the chance to sit and think about why we celebrate this holiday. If they did, they would realize that Christmas is so much more than the gifts, the food and the decorations.

It’s about something much simpler. It’s about love. It’s about a child born in a humble setting, a gift to the world from God.

Take time to remember why we celebrate Christmas. It makes everything else seem so much less important. You might still need to get the other things on your list done, but if you take the time to remember, it should make the holidays a little less stressful.
