Tennis team drops to Blue Earth Area in Sections
The TCU Tennis team was defeated on Wednesday, Oct. 2 in the Section 2A Quarterfinals in Blue Earth Area.
Blue Earth Area 5 - Tri-City United 2
Coach Phil Murry said the match was very competitive and its outcome came down to the last two matches on the court.
“Unfortunately, we ended up losing both. I thought we matched up very well with them. We got two huge wins from our leaders all season Kori and Courtney,” he said. “We needed to pick up a couple of wins at doubles to pull off the upset. We played very well but just couldn't get over the hump.”
Murry said the two doubles teams played a very tight match all the way through.
“They played for a long time. They were the first on and the last off the court,” he said.
Next up for TCU is the individual tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College on Thursday, Oct. 10.
For that venue, the team will take two singles players and two doubles
