Tennis team earns first win

It took a while, but the TCU Tennis Team earned its first win of the season when they played Faribault on Monday, Sept. 19.

Titan Coach Phil Murry said it was nice to have the first win, but it was better yet to play better up and down the lineup. He said the team came back to win a doubles match, but the final score came down to Guadalupe Ruiz playing No. 1 singles.

“It all came down to the final match. Guadalupe was the last one on the court and it was tied up 3-3. She had lost  a big lead in the first set, but came back to win 12 out of the last 13 games,” Murry said. “We got a huge come from behind win at No. 3 doubles. They were down 5-2 in the first set, but battled back and won the next 11 games.”
