Tennis team tops New Ulm
The New Prague Boys tennis team won their second match of the season, by a 4-3 score over New Ulm Tuesday, April 12.
New Prague (2-0) had three other matches postponed or cancelled last week due to the weather, including their home invitational which was scheduled for Saturday, April 16.
New Prague hosts Northfield Thursday, April 21, and will face Mankato East at home on Monday, April 25. They play at Chaska on Tuesday, April 26, and at Orono on Wendesay, April 27.
Against the Eagles, the Trojans won at No. 2 and No. 4 singles and at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
At No. 2 singles, Kyle Chevalier won in two sets, 6-1, 6-1. Mackenzie Masberg won at No. 4 singles (score not available).
Kam Manthe lost a tough match at No. 1 singles, in three sets, as did Jace Manthe at No. 3 singles.
Andy Roach and Mason Johnson won at No. 1 doubles, 6-3, 6-3, while Nate McNab and Joe Hatch won at No. 3 doubles, 6-1, 6-1. The team of Aaron Hendrickson and David Lim lost in two sets at No. 2 doubles.
