Thanks To The American Warriors

With the observance of Memorial Day coming this weekend, it’s the time to express our thanks to all those who are responsible for keeping our American Flag proudly flying over this great country. And it is a great country, in spite of a few bumps in the road that often put some doubts in our mind, create some confusion and fear, and cause us to sometimes question the abilities and common sense of our leaders. However, in the end we give thanks and as a unified nation we say, “God Bless America, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.”

Thanks Warriors
From the colonists,
who rebelled,
to the soldier of today,
Our thanks, be to you,
We know not what else to say.
Since the words we do not have,
to give the tribute that is due,
So a simple heartfelt thanks,
sincerely we give to you.
Thanks to our American heroes,
whose devotion
is second to none,
Whose courage
and braveness alone
caused many battles to be won.
Only because of you
and the price
you willingly did pay,
Only because of you,
Old Glory still flies today!

Believe It Or Not
It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride’s father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer, and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month we know today as the honeymoon!
