Thomas Jelinek, 71

Thomas Milo Jelinek, 71, of Oak Ridge, TN, died Fri- day, August 3, 2012, at the Methodist Medical Cen- ter.

Thomas was born June 17, 1941, in New Prague, the son of Myles F. and Elsie (Cecka) Jelinek. He retired from the Department of Ener- gy, where he was a health physicist. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Colum- bus. Tom enjoyed boating and spending time at the lake.

Heissurvivedbyhiswife of 45 years Kathleen (Matt- son) Jelinek; his father; daughters Jennifer (Jeffrey) Lawson and Michelle (Steve) Stewart; six grandchildren Hailey Lawson, William Lawson, Myles Lawson, Jenna Stewart, Nathan Stew- art and Ryan Stewart, all of Kingston.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother Frank Jelinek.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, with Rev. Bede Aboh officiating. The entombment of ashes will follow in the church columbarium.

Visitation will be held Fri- day from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge, TN. A Rosary Service will follow at 8 p.m. The family asks that any memorialsintheformofcon- tributions be sent to St. Mary's School, 327 Vermont Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830, or the East TN Chil- dren's Hospital, 2018 W. Clinch Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916.
