Thomas Lee Fanning, 59

THOMAS LEE FANNING, age 59 of Elysian, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at his home.

Born in Rochester on February 6, 1958, he was the son of George and Marie Fanning.  He grew up in Rochester and attended Rochester Public Schools.  Tom lived at Our Homes South in Morristown before moving to Nu Horizons Home in Elysian.  He worked at Jobs Plus in Waseca for many years.  His staff, caregivers, and roommates became his second family.  Their love and compassion was beyond measure.  He cherished his letters and gifts from Uncle Marvin, and he loved listening to country music, going to Twins games, bowling, eating at Perkins, and taking trips to Walmart. 

Tom is survived by two brothers, Dean (MaryJo) Fanning of Oronoco and Jeff Fanning of Rochester; and one special niece, Katelyn Fanning and her mother Lori Adams, also of Rochester.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Tom’s family hosted a celebration of his life from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Elysian Clubhouse.  A private family interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester will be held at a later date.  Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville is handling arrangements.  dennisfuneralhomes.com
