Thomas Prchal, 89

Thomas F. Prchal, 89, of Montgomery, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Infinia Health Care Center in Faribault.

Thomas was born in Derrynane Township of Le Sueur County on November 17, 1917, to Joseph F. and Anna V. (Rehor) Prchal. He attended country school and then Sherman High School in Montgomery. On February 11, 1941, Thomas married Blanche E. Janovsky at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. He farmed near Montgomery and enjoyed raising livestock, fishing and Le Sueur County Pioneer Power. He also enjoyed attending the state plowing contest, Plowville. Thomas was a member of Montgomery Knights of Columbus Council #1573.

He is survived by seven children, Gerald (Marilyn) Prchal, Montgomery, Evelyn (John) Duban, Lonsdale, Theresa (Bill) Collins, Le Center, Marilyn (James) Squires, Montgomery, Carol (Allen) Webb, Savage, Joseph (Julie) Prchal, Montgomery and Daniel (Jodi) Prchal, Montgomery; a brother, Henry (Patsy) Prchal, Norwood Young America; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter, Elaine Ceplecha; great-grandson, Hunter Ceplecha; a brother, Fred Prchal; and a sister, Buzna Bessie Prchal in infancy.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27. Burial was at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery. Pallbearers were Joey, Brian, Jacob and Jerry Prchal, Tyler Webb and Bradley Collins.

Visitation was held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m.
