Thomsen takes 5th at state
New Prague Trojan junior Britin Thomsen had a good showing at the MSHSL Class A diving finals, moving up four spots to place fifth at the state meet Wednesday at the University of Minnesota. Thomson had a total of 308.05 points. Bailey DuPay of Northfield won her third state diving title with a total of 397.55, winning by 46 points. All four divers from Section 1A finished in the top six: DuPay, Lauren Hake of Northfield (fourth), Thomsen and Autumn Laury of Austin (sixth). It was a great day overall for Section 1 at the State Swimming and Diving meet, as teams and individuals from the section won each event at the state meet, with five teams finishing in the top 10. Visitation won the meet, with 300 points, easily outdistancing second place Mankato West, which had 168. Albert Lea was fifth, Faribualt sixth and Northfield ninth. Thomsen earned 14 team points, giving New prague a 32nd place finish. Read more in the November 28 edition of The New Prague Times.
