The preparations have been made and now it’s time for Dozinky, New Prague’s Czech Harvest Festival. If past years are an indication, there will be thousands of people taking part in the community’s 21st annual celebration of its Czech heritage with music, dancing, food and fun.
Car Cruise on Friday
The festivities will begin Friday evening with the Classic Car Cruise. Approximately 400 vehicles, 1985 or older vintage, will parade along New Prague’s Main Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. The street will be closed to traffic as the classic vehicles cruise the downtown area, head into the neighboring countryside and then return to town. Owners will be able to park their vehicles along Main Street after the cruise so people can take a closer look.
A street dance will be held on Central Avenue N. at 8 p.m. as the Downtown Sound Variety Fun Band takes the stage.
