Three information programs for seniors to be presented by CAP Agency
Senior citizens have the opportunity to learn more about available services when the CAP Agency presents three information programs. They will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, at Philipp Square Apartments, 116 First Avenue NW, New Prague.
The programs to be presented include:
State Health Insurance Program (SHIP), which offers counseling to participants regarding Medicare and other supplemental health insurance programs. Health insurance counseling services include assitance resolving problems with Medicare bills, purchasing supplemental coverage or determining eligibility for add on programs such as the Prescription Drug Program.
Energy Assistance Program (EAP) provides grants to help pay residential heating bills. Additional funds are available for energy crisis situations and energy related repairs. Services are available to income eligible renters or homeowners of Scott, Carver and Dakota counties.
CHORE provides help with indoor and outdoor maintenance chores to enable seniors to live independently in their homes. Adults, over age 60, who live in Scott County who need this support are eligible for CHORE services.
