Titans fall to Scott West

The TCU Titans took on Scott West’s tough wrestling team and were defeated 63-12 on Thursday, Dec. 20, at TCU High School. Winning for the Titans were  Mason Brownlee at 138 pounds, Derek Traxler at 152 pounds and Alex Burns at 285 pounds.  Titan coach Brian Mikel said Traxler pulled out a nice win in overtime and Burns keeps on rolling along with a big pin at heavyweight. He added that at 182 pounds, Joe Kalina showed improvement and toughness in a close loss to his opponent. “We just ran into a very tough team tonight,” Mike said. “Scott West does not make mistakes, and when their opponents do, they capitalize. We just have to get more physical and agressive to compete with a team like Scott West.  Scott West wrestled very well and hats off to them.”  On the junior varsity side, Zach Mikel and Adam Miller came up with wins.
