Titans finish fifth at Alexandria, narrowly miss state berth

After its first year in existence, the TCU clay target team finished a very successful season by placing fifth out of 32 teams at the Class 4A Alexandria Championship Tournament on Friday.

The TCU varsity team scored 458 points for a fourth place finish, and the junior varsity scored 411 points for 14th place. Coach Joel Fogarty said the Titans were only three targets away from qualifying for the Minnesota State High School League’s state tournament that will be held on Sunday, June 25 at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.

Even though they missed a trip to state by just a few clays, Coach Joel Fogarty was more than pleased at the team’s finish.

“The entire team’s hard work really paid off,” he said. “The TCU Titans made a great appearance. What a great season team! We came a long way in a short time. One year ago, we didn’t even have a team!”
