Titans to play Pine Island in first round of playoffs

The Titan Football Team received fourth seed ranking on Thursday, Oct. 20 in the Section 1AAA football tournament. They are scheduled to play No. 5 seed Pine Island on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Montgomery at 7 p.m. The Titans enter the contest with a 2-6 record. The Panthers will come with a 3-5 record after a 22-26 loss to Zumbrota-Mazeppa on October 19.

The winner of the game will advance to the semifinals against Rochester Lourdes on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium. The Eagles enter the contest with an 8-0 record after their close 29-28 win over Stewartville on Wednesday. The Eagles get the chance to rest up for the game after receiving a bye for next Tuesday’s action.

In other parings, Cannon Falls (No. 2) plays La Crescent (No 7), and Plainview-Elgin-Millville (No. 3) plays Lake City (No. 6) on Tuesday.
