Torchlight Parade, fireworks: the tradition continues strong
Festive holiday spirit overflowed in Montgomery on Thursday, Dec. 1.
The joyous and jubilant mood was thanks to 50 floats decorated with Christmas lights and music, more than a dozen establishments with food and drink specials, multiple musical acts, and more than five minutes of fireworks choreographed to music that made up the 24th annual Torchlight Parade and Fireworks.
The night had it all. What more could you ask for in a winter parade?
Oh, yes! Fireworks! The annual event was crowned with a firework display choreographed to music that lasted more than five minutes. RES Specialty Pyrotechnics from Belle Plaine returned with the popular finale to Montgomery.
The parade had floats from around the area - Lonsdale, Le Center, Jordan, and New Prague, but one of the most special ones belonged to Jr.Grand Marshals Trista Gessler and Brayden Siebsen, and button designer Megan Odenthal who rode their specially designed float at the beginning of the parade.
