Trojan baseball team falls twice to Tigers

The New Prague Trojan baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Farmington Tuesday, April 30.

The Trojans (0-3, 0-2 Missota) were scheduled to host Holy Angels Tuesday, May 7, in a doubleheader, and will travel to Chaska for a twinbill on Thursday, May 9.

The Trojans will play two at Red Wing Tuesday, May 14, and will host Northfield in a doubleheader at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, May 16.

Tigers 13, Trojans 2 In the first game New Prague surrendered 14 hits in a 13-2 loss. The Tigers scored two in the first and four in the second to take the early lead. Jason Kazlauskas was the starter and took the loss, with Danny Beckius and Brok Schwarzkopf pitching in relief. New Prague had eight hits, with Nathan Olson and Schwarzkopf getting two each and Eric Wagner, Ben Doerr, Brandon Goblirsch and Joe Heinz also getting hits.

Tigers 5, Trojans 2 In game two the Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the second thanks to three bases-loaded walks. New Prague had just four hits, doubles by Auggie Isaacson and Kazlauskas and singles by Olson and Heinz. Ben Miller took the loss, with Hunter Piehl pitching in relief.
