Trojan boys breeze past Whitehawks

New Prague's boys basketball team got its second win in as many tries Friday, Dec. 8, as they defeated Mound-Westonka 78-49 in the Trojan gym.

The Trojans will travel to Waseca on Friday, Dec. 15, then return home next week for two games, against Le Sueur-Henderson and Faribault. After that they are off until the Owatonna Tournament December 29 and 30.

The Trojans had little trouble asserting themselves in their win over the Whitehawks Friday. They jumped to a 35-17 halftime lead and managed to get playing time for everyone who was dressed for varsity over the course of the game.

Juniors Tony Johnson and Adam Michel led the Trojans in scoring. Johnson had 19 and Michel 17. Two other starters were in double figures, with freshman Danny Geiger scoring 12 and sophomore Eric Meger 11. Nine different players scored for the Trojans.

New Prague hit nine three-pointers during the game, with Michel getting three of those and Meger and Geiger getting two apiece. Josh Stocker and Johnson had the others.

It was a chance to play everyone and get some confidence for our young team
