Trojan boys win playoff opener

The New Prague Trojans survived a hot-shooting Rochester Mayo squad in the opening round of the Section 1AAAA boys basketball tournament, defeating the visting Spartans 70-56 Wednesday, March 8. The Trojans, seeded No. 2 in the section tournament, will face No. 3 seed Rochester John Marshall at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.
