Trojan girls to face Shakopee in hockey playoffs

The New Prague Trojan girls hockey team received the No. 6 seed for the Section 2AA playoffs, and will travel to Shakopee for the quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 9. 

Eden Prairie is the No. 1 seed for the tournament, Minnetonka is second, Shakopee third and Holy Family Catholic fourth. They will all host first round games on Friday. Semifinals are Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Braemar Arena in Edina and the championship game is Friday, Feb. 16, also at Braemar. 

The Trojans (14-10-1) and Sabers (12-10-3) played on Dec. 2, with the Sabers winning 3-1.

First round pairings - all games 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9

No. 8 Bloomington Jefferson at Eden Prairie

No. 5 Prior Lake at Holy Family Catholic/Waconia, at Victoria

No. 6 New Prague at No. 3 Shakopee

No. Chaska/Chanhassen at No. 2 Minnetonka
