Trojan spikers to host Shakopee in 2AAA playoffs

New Prague received the No. 8 seed for the Section 2AAA 
volleyball tournament, and will host No. 9 Shakopee at 7 p.m. Wednesday, 
Oct. 23, in the first round of the section playoffs.  The winner will 
travel to No. 1-seed Chaska for a quarterfinal game on Friday, Oct. 
25.
The Trojans and Sabers met on October 3, with Shakopee edging 
New Prague in a tight, marathon five-set match. The Trojans, however, 
got the edge over Shakopee in seeding on the basis of its 
significantly better regular season record. New Prague is 15-13 while 
Shakopee is 9-18.
The top four seeds, Chaska, Buffalo, Delano and Prior Lake, received 
byes in the first round. Pairings for the tournament are:
9-Shakopee at 8-New Prague
winner at 1-Chaska
12-Mankato East at 5-Chanhassen
winner at 4-Buffalo
11-Willmar at 6-Waconia
winner at 3-Prior Lake
10-Hutchinson at 7-Mankato West
winner at 2-Delano

Semifinals are Tuesday, Oct. 29, with the champinoship match at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2
