Trojans fall in 2AA

The New Prague Trojan girls tennis team split two matches in Section 2AA team competition last week.

The Trojans, seeded No. 4 in the South Sub-Section, defeated No. 5 seed New Ulm 5-2, then lost to No. 1 seed Hutchinson 5-2 and were eliminated from team competition.

The Trojans will send two singles players and two doubles teams into action Friday, Oct. 13, in the Section 2AA individual tournament. The tournament continues Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Trojans 5, Eagles 2 New Prague took three of four singles matches and two of three doubles matches to claim a first round win over New Ulm Tuesday, Oct. 3, at New Prague.

Jenna Larson won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1, Kianna Howard won at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-2 and Lucy Lannon won at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6- 0.
