Trojans get top seed in 1AAAA softball
The New Prague Trojans received the No. 1 seed for the Section 1AAAA softball tournament, which begins Tuesday, May 24.
New Prague will host Rochester John Marshall at 5 p.m. in the first round of the double-elimination tournament. Win or lose, the Trojans will play again Thursday, May 26, at Todd Park in Austin. This is the first year of a four-class softball tournament for the Minnesota State High School League, and New Prague is one of the smallest schools in the largest class.
First round pairings:
Tuesday May 24, 5 p.m.
8-Rochester John Marshall at 1-New Prague
5-Rochester Mayo at 4-Lakeville South
6-Owatonna at 3-Lakeville North
7-Rochester Century at 2-Farmington
The tournament continues Thursday, May 36, Tuesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 2
