Trojans' strong effort comes up short in losses to Stars, Cougars

New Prague's girls soccer team had two solid outings last week, but came up empty in the win column.

The Trojans lost to Holy Angels 3-0 and dropped a 4-1 decision to Mankato East.

The Trojans were scheduled to conclude their regular season Tuesday at Prior Lake, but that game was postponed to Wednesday due to poor weather conditions.

The Section 2A tournament gets underway Tuesday, Oct. 13. Seeding will take place Wednesday. New Prague (2-12, 0-5 Missota) will likely be on the road, but the opponent won't be known until Wednesday.

None of the teams in the section are ranked, but the teams with the top records are Albert Lea (9-2-1), St. Peter (9-4-3) and New Ulm (9-5-1). When seedings are announced, they will be available at newpraguetimes.com.
