Trojans survive marathon match to beat Farmington

New Prague’s volleyball team had two matches last week, losing to Belle Plaine in three games, then beating Farmington in five. The team faced Red Wing on Tuesday evening in their conference finale, and will host perennial state power Eagan in their season finale Thursday, Oct. 20.

Corrected Playoff Schedule: Section 1AAA playoffs begin next week, with play-in games on Monday, Oct. 24. First round games are Wednesday, Oct. 26, with quarterfinals played on Friday, Oct. 28.

The Trojans hope to be seeded in the top eight, and get at least one home match. Seeding will be done this weekend, with Lakeville North and Owatonna considered the top two teams in the section.

New Prague went into the match against the always-tough Tigers from Belle Plaine missing their top hitter, Karen Sauer who was not able to play due to illness. Belle Plaine won in three games, 25-13, 25-14, 25-15.
