Trojans tie for WCC East softball title

The New Prague Trojans defeated the Waconia Wildcats 3-0 Thursday, May 19, at Waconia. The win gives the Trojans a share of the Wright County Conference East title with a 9-1 record. Delano tied the Trojans for the championship. 
Emily Schmitz doubled in a run in the first and Taylor Koehnen drove in two runs in the third, also with a double. Mia Kraimer allowed just three hits in earning the shutout win. 
New Prague (13-6) ends the regular season tonight (Friday) with a 7 p.m. game at Prior Lake (No. 2, Class AAAA). The Trojans begin the Section 1AAAA tournament Tuesday, May 24. Seeding for the tournament will be announced this weekend.
