Trojans top Eagles 3-0 for return trip to state

Jessie Doig scored less than two minutes into the game, Jenna Kilpatrick added two second period goals and for the second straight year, goaltender Daedra Culshaw was perfect in the nets in the section finals as New Prague defeated New Ulm 3-0 to advance to the State Class A girls hockey tournament.

New Prague will play at 2 p.m. Friday against the Section 4A champions, Holy Angels, at the University of Minnesota's Ridder Arena.

Quick start

One trademark of the Trojans during their playoff run has been the quick start, and Jessie Doig provided the spark to get the Trojans going, scoring on a wrist shot from the right side just 1:46 into the game, with an assist going to Breanne Hrabe.
