Tuma is crowned Masopust King
Montgomery held its pre-Lent celebration, Masopust (Czech-style Mardi Gras) on Sunday, and crowned its newest ambassador, Zach Tuma, son of Anne and Jeff Tuma.
Before the start of Lent, people in the Czech Republic celebrate with masquerading and merry-making called Masopust, or “goodbye to meat”. In Montgomery, organizers threw a scaled back, one-day party on Sunday, Feb. 26. The event attracted close to 200 people to the American Legion Club for food, fun and dancing.
