Two file in Webster Township

Both incumbents filed for re-election and will be unopposed in the March 13 township elections in Webster Township.

Township clerk Todd Elwood reported that incumbent Lawrence Valek had filed for another three-year term as supervisor, and Robert Michel, also an incumbent, filed for another two-year term as treasurer in the northern Rice County township. The filing deadline was Tuesday, Jan. 16, but the information was not available for last week's edition of The New Prague Times.

Six area townships - Webster and Wheatland in Rice County, Lanesburgh and Derrynane in Le Sueur County and Cedar Lake and New Market in Scott County will hold their elections and annual meetings on March 13. Two other townships, Belle Plaine and Helena in Scott County, hold their elections in November of even-numbered years, but will hold their annual meetings on March 13.
