U of M Extension, UFC to hold hail clinic

Severe weather on the night of July 9, 2017, brought strong winds, heavy rain, hail and two confirmed tornadoes to south central Minnesota, damaging buildings and crops in Blue Earth, Nicollet and Sibley Counties.

In an effort to provide crop producers with information and assist in the decision-making process, the University of Minnesota Extension and United Farmers Coop will be holding a Hail Clinic on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 9 a.m. in the Berdan Event Center of the UFC main office in Winthrop.

This event is free of charge and light refreshments will be provided.

University of Minnesota Extension specialists and the UFC Agronomy Team will lead the discussion and cover topics including estimating corn and soybean damage, survivability and potential yield loss, pest management following severe weather events and agronomic options available to producers at this time in the growing season.

For more information about this event, feel free to contact Jason Ertl, Extension Educator in Nicollet/Sibley Counties at 507-237-4100 or ertlx019@umn.edu
