Volleyball team stages big comeback against Hutch

New Prague came back from an 0-2 deficit to knock Hutchinson out of first place in the Missota Conference last Thursday. Earlier in the week, the Trojans had lost a five-game contest to Mankato East.

The Trojans lost to Rosemount on Monday. Details will be in next week’s edition of The Times.

New Prague travels to league-leading Northfield on Thursday, then plays in the tough Lakeville North Tourney Friday and Saturday. The 16-team field includes six teams ranked in the top 10 of their classes, including three of the top four teams in Class AAA. On Tuesday, Oct. 11, New Prague travels to Belle Plaine, then they host Farmington on Thursday, Oct. 13.

New Prague and Mankato East played a roller-coaster match at Mankato Tuesday, Sept. 27. New Prague won the first game easily, dropped the next two, won game 4 and then watched Mankato East put it away in game 5, winning by a score of 13-25, 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 15-9.
