Wanted man has contact with law enforcement
Officers from seven different law enforcement agencies assisted in attempting to locate James Otis of Waterville Wedenesday evening, May 24. The Waseca County Sheriff's Department responded to a home near the Waseca and Steele County line where Otis was suspected of stopping, looking for help with a flat tire. Otis, who has a warrant for his arrest out of Le Sueur County for 5th Degree Substance and Felon in Possession of Ammunition, fled in a vehicle with a flat tire on Highway 13 before he and a female occupant got out of the vehicle and started running. The female was apprehended but after an extensive search of the area, Otis was not located. According to Waseca County Sheriff Brad Milbrath, Otis had a weapon and methamphetamine with him. This case is still under investigation and if anyone knows of the whearabouts of Oits, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
