Welcome to our celebration

There has been lots of activity in New Prague, and especially in the downtown area, during the past few weeks.

Construction crews were busy putting the finishing touches on this summer’s street and utility improvement project, making sure that the streets were ready for the thousands of visitors expected during this weekend’s Dozinky celebration. Last week, city crews were busy doing touch-up work throughout the downtown area, all with the intent on making New Prague look its best. Even the business owners and building owners were hard at work, with several buildings getting a new coat of paint and touchups and maintenance being made to different buildings.

New Prague is a proud community, and Dozinky is the time when that pride shines through the most. Hundreds of people are volunteering their time in a variety of ways to make sure Dozinky weekend goes off without a hitch. We welcome all the visitors who come to our community to experience our unique Czech Harvest Festival. We welcome all the former New Prague area residents who come home each year to experience the Dozinky Festival and to reconnect with family members, classmates and friends. We welcome the many vendors who will be selling food, crafts and other items.

As town festivals go, Dozinky is relatively young, at 29 years. However during that time it has become a tradition for many reasons. We encourage everyone, residents and visitors alike, to enjoy everything Dozinky - and New Prague - has to offer. Come celebrate New Prague and its heritage.
