Welcome, runners and spectators

If you venture over to New Prague’s Memorial Park Saturday morning, you’re going to see something remarkable.

Hundreds of runners, along with family members and friends, as well as volunteer workers, will converge on the park. The first “Robin Hood Half-Marathon” took place in 1986, and each year since then the event, later the “New Prague Half- Marathon” and now simply “Run New Prague” has drawn a large field of runners. The event now includes shorter distances, a 5K and 10K supplement the Half-Marathon, and a Kid’s Fun Run.

Hundreds of people will visit New Prague on Saturday, and dozens of volunteers will see to it that these visitors have an enjoyable time. Run New Prague is an event that helps to showcase the city and show people what New Prague is all about.

As of press time, the weather looks like it will be favorable to both runners and spectators... dry, sunny and not too warm. We encourage people not involved with the race to stop by and see what all the excitement is about. This community event is one of the biggest undertakings of the New Prague Chamber of Commerce, other than Dozinky of course. The chamber does a great job of organizing everything and drawing attention to our community.
