What will 2017 hold?

This weekend brings the beginning of a new year. We say good bye to 2016 and all the changes it has brought, and we prepare for 2017 and the uncertainty that follows.

Change is difficult for some people. They feel comfortable with what they know and are hesitant to make any changes in their personal or professional lives. The beginning of a new year, however, does give many people the impetus to affect change in their lives. New Year’s resolutions are made by many, whether those resolutions are to improve professionally, improve one’s health, become more financially resonsible or to devote more time to family or some endeavor. Many, and probably most of these resolutions bring about a temporary change in behavior that eventually gives way to old habits. However some people find the will to make these changes permanent.

Depending on your political views, you may be eagerly anticipating or nervously dreading the changes coming in our government, with a new president and a congress that are on the same side of the aisle.

For sure, we know that there will be changes. We can only hope they will be for the better and work toward making sure that they have a positive effect.

The New Prague Times staff wishes everyone a happy and prosperous New Year. We hope any changes in your life will be positive ones.
