Wrestlers win 3 of 4
With three wins in four matches last week the New Prague Trojan wrestling team pushed its record to 7-2.
The Trojans defeated South St. Paul and Minnehaha Academy/ Mounds Park/Concordia in a meet at South St. Paul Thursday, then beat Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center and lost to Waseca at Waseca Friday.
The Trojans were scheduled to compete in a three-team meet at Mankato, with Mankato East and Le Sueur-Henderson on Tuesday, after this edition of The New Prague Times went to press. They will have two weeks off before returning to the mat Thursday, Jan. 8, in a triangular with Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center and Farmington at Farmington.
Trojans 63, Packers 15
Things didn't start out well for New Prague, as they lost the first two matches and trailed 9-0.
But New Prague rattled off eight straight wins, six of them by fall, as they built a 45-9 lead. Scoring pins for New Prague were Aaron Redding (119 pounds), Morgan Parriott (125), Alex Minette (130), Nick McGuiggan (140), Jesse Cole (145) and David Doran (160). Josh Meyers took a forfeit win at 135 and Andy Reinartz came back from a 9-1 first period deficit to win a 12-10 decision.
Jay Reinke (189) and Zach Molitor (215) added falls and Evan Beranek (285) won by forfeit.

Only six matches were wrestled as Minnehaha Academy/Mounds Park Academy/Concordia forfeited at eight weights. New Prague won three of the six matches; Minette with a fall at 130, Jesse Cole with a fall at 145 and Doran with a fall at 160. Winning by forfeit were Richard Reinartz (103), Dakota Cole (112), Redding (119), Parriott (125), Meyers (135), Roger Sirek (171), Reinke (189) and Molitor (215).

Trojans 40, Coyotes 36
Reinke clinched a win for the Trojans with a pin at 189 pounds as New Prague defeated rival Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center 40-36 at Waseca Friday.
The Trojans led most of the match, but the Coyotes kept things close throughout. New Prague opened up a 9-0 lead with a 5-4 decision by Natalie Rutt at 103 pounds and a fall by Dakota Cole at 112.
The Coyotes led 12-9, but New Prague tied it with a decision by Parriott at 130, then Minette scored a major decision at 135 to give the Trojans the lead at 16-12.
McGuiggan (140) and Jesse Cole (145) picked up a pair of falls, and Andy Reinartz (152) won by forfeit to give the Trojans a 34-18 lead. The Coyotes won by fall at 171 before Reinke scored his second-period fall at 189 to clinch the win.

Bluejays 42, Trojans 32
The Trojans got off to a slow start, losing thier first three matches against the host Bluejays, and were never able to catch up in a 42-32 loss.
Waseca led 15-0 when Redding got New Prague's first points at 125 pounds with a technical fall, but the Jays came back with a fall at 130. Minette countered with a pin at 135, but Waseca won the next two matches, making it 30-11.
Andy Reinartz took an 11-7 overtime win at 152, Reinke won by fall at 189 and Molitor won by fall at 215. Brandon Svoboda took a forfeit win at 285.
