Absentee ballots now available for special primary election
The Office of the Le Sueur County Election Administrator announced on Tuesday that absentee ballots are now available to the public for the May 24, 2022, Congressional District 1 Special Primary Election.
The seat became vacant when incumbent Republican Representative Jim Hagedorn died on February 17, 2022, due to kidney cancer.
Individuals may vote in person at the Auditor-Treasurer’s Office at the Government Center, 88 S Park Ave, Le Center, or fill out an absentee ballot application on-line, or mail an application to Le Sueur County Elections, 88 South Park Ave, Le Center MN 56057, and a ballot will be mailed to them.
A link for absentee voting has been set up on the County’s website www.co.le-sueur.mn.us/341/Elections. From this link, you can get a paper application or apply online.
Hours for voting in person are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Courthouse will also be open for voting on Saturday, May 21, 2022, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and on Monday, May 23, 2022, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
