Fessel and Nuetzman advance to State WEM arts students standout at Section competition

WEM students have produced some outstanding artwork during the course of the 2024-2025 school year.

Two of those students have been judged to be among the best in the State of Minnesota.

Seniors Halle Fessel and Clara Nuetzman were selected to have their artwork displayed at the State Visual Arts Festival held at the Perpich Center for the Performing Arts in Golden Valley on May 10.

Fessel will present her drawing which is titled “Sunny Brook.” Nuetzman will present her ceramics piece which is titled “Barry B.” Their work will be displayed along with the best of the best visual artists from around the state. They will receive a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) plaque for their work.

“I am incredibly proud of the work created by all of the students in the art programs at WEM High School. We have had our high school and elementary students' work displayed throughout the school in conjunction with music programs, as well as the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault. 67 WEM K-12 students represented the school at PAC's annual student school, along with art from seven other area schools,” WEM Art Instructor Kelly Stanton-Nutt said. “Recently, senior Randi Selbrade had a solo exhibit at the Paradise, followed...
