Jean Kay Wetzel, 61

Jean Kae Wetzel, age 62 of Waterville, died at Traditions of Waterville on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Born in Rice County on December 11, 1958, Jean was the daughter of Alvin and Ruby (Spoors) Haefs. She graduated from Northfield High School with the class of 1978. In 1981 Jean was married to Bernard E. Hinderscheid, Jr. Together they had three children before they divorced. She later married Jerry Wetzel and spent several years with him before their later divorce. Jean worked as a laundry assistant at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching movies, and visiting with family and friends.

Jean is survived by three children, Candi (Ryan) Petersen of St. James, Tim (Hannah) Hinderscheid of Waterville, and Monica Hinderscheid of Mankato; one grandchild, Michael Petersen of St. James; four siblings, John Haefs Jr. of St. James, LaDane Peterson of Faribault, Bob Haefs of Kenyon, and Warren Haefs of Faribault; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Roxann Haefs, Sally Miller, and William Haefs.

A graveside interment service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville. Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville is handling the arrangements. dennisfuneralhomes.com
