Nutter scores 43 points against Medford WEM splits four Gopher Conference games

The WEM boys basketball team split four Gopher Conference games over the course of the last two weeks. During those games a pair of players scored their career-highs.

Senior Jonathan Remme hit four three pointers and four free throws on his way to a career-high 16 points in a 53-50 win over United South Central January 25. This avenged a 59-52 loss to the rebels earlier in the season.

Six days later senior Brady Nutter scored a career-high 43 points, which ties classmate Dom Paulson for the second highest single game scoring total in Buccaneer history. Nutter’s effort helped the Bucs defeat Medford, 68-60 to complete a two game sweep of the Tigers.

Last week WEM dropped a 57-36 game to NRHEG Thursday, Feb. 3 and a 78-64 game to Blooming Prairie Friday, Feb. 4.

The Bucs, 4-8 in the conference and 7-11 overall, will play at Faribault BA Friday, Feb. 11, host Madelia Monday, Feb. 14, and host NRHEG Friday, Feb. 18.
