Joseph "Joe" Michael Gores, age 75, of Montgomery passed away at his home on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Joe was born on February 19, 1950, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, to Hubert and Lillian (Hauptli) Gores. He grew up in Wabasso and graduated from Wabasso High School. On October 26, 1968, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Burns. Together, they moved to Montgomery in 1973, and built a life centered around family, hard work, and community.

Gordy the mailman, the dad, granddad, great-granddad, master of common sense, friend & lover of food passed away in his sleep on August 13, 2025.He was active & living alone up to the end.  He had driven the night before to the Dairy Queen to get himself a chocolate shake & left this world much like he ended phone calls, abruptly.

Born April 11, 1931, in Kilkenny, MN, to Hattie (Born) & Michael Balfe. His strong values, of family, helping others, & appreciating what you have, all began there & continued on during his entire well spent life.

Leonard M. “Walleye Lenny” Adamek, age 75, of Lonsdale, peacefully passed away at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee on Friday, August 1, 2025. Lenny was born on July 30, 1950, in New Prague, to Myles L. and Lorraine (Flicek) Adamek. He grew up on his family’s farm in Webster and lived in Webster and Lonsdale his entire life. 

June M. Hanson, age 82, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Mill City Senior Living.

June Mary, the daughter of Leonard and Elsie Pollack, was born on December 3, 1942 in New Prague, MN. June attended Montgomery High School. She moved to Faribault and worked as a housekeeper at District One Hospital for over 35 years. She loved going to garage sales, antiquing, sending cards for everyone’s birthdays and special events, and spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her life and any time she could spend with them, she would.

Garry Pribyl of Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home at the age of 65.

Garry was born to Willard and Marcelline (Carpentier) Pribyl on March 3, 1960, in New Prague. He attended school in Montgomery and graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School in 1978.

Joyce Mary Denzer, age 77, of Blaine, formerly of Montgomery, died following a three-year courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at her home.

James Richard Boesch, age 89, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, July 3, 2025, surrounded by his family at Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Mankato.

Gloria May (Miller) Trcka, age 87, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery.

Rose Pauline (Miller) Perteet, age 87, of Albert Lea, formerly of Montgomery, passed away, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her home.

A Celebration of Life for Terry Kielty will be held at the Montgomery American Legion Post 79 on Saturday, July 12, from 1-5 p.m. Friends and relatives are encouraged to come and remember him with some food, refreshments, and community.

Gary James Rutt, age 80, of St. Thomas, passed away suddenly at All Saints Senior Living in Shakopee, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.  Gary was born on June 17, 1945, in New Prague, to Frank and Mary (Velishek) Rutt. He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Montgomery High School.  He met the love of his life, Shirley E. Keough, at her “sweet 16th” birthday party and they married on October 2, 1965, at St.

Shirley Ann Budin, age 81, of Montgomery, died peacefully at her home on June 30, 2025, after spending two weeks under hospice care.
She was born at home on the farm in Union Hill, MN, to Norbert and Viola Weiers on May 31, 1944. She was the oldest of 12 children. She graduated from New Prague High School in 1962. She went to beauty school in Minneapolis and got a job at Southdale Mall at Doll House Beauty. 

Marilyn M. May, age 91, of New Prague, died tragically as the result of a car accident, on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
 Marilyn Mae Prokes was the only child born to Martin W. and Adeline (Shankey) Prokes on November 23, 1933.  Her childhood was spent living above the grocery store her parents operated and playing with the neighborhood children on Main Street.  She attended St. Wenceslaus and New Prague High School.  After graduation in 1951, Marilyn and friends headed to Minneapolis to live and work.

Roberta (Bert) Jane (Leatherman) McGuiggan, age 98, passed away June 18, 2025, at Christian Community Home in Osceola, WI. Roberta was born July 22, 1926, to parents Charles and Anna (Becker) Leatherman.
 She was married to John (Jack) E. McGuiggan Jr. on December 26, 1944, and to this marriage had 10 children – 7 girls and 3 boys.

Gerald Gene Adamek, age 79, of Montgomery, died on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home in Montgomery surrounded by his loving family.

Phyllis Vosejpka (nee Kriha), age 95, of St. Paul, MN, died peacefully on June 9, 2025.  Phyllis was born April 19, 1930, in Minneapolis, and grew up in Montgomery, Minnesota.  She married Stanley Vosejpka in 1955, and they settled in St. Paul, where they raised their family and where Phyllis lived for the remainder of her life. 
Phyllis was an accomplished baker and seamstress, an avid card player and fisherwoman, and a devoted sports fan.  She was immensely proud of her Czech heritage and enjoyed both speaking and singing in Czech with the Sokol Minnesota Singers.
