Like the variety of flavors of the Bohemian bun, the 88th annual Kolacky Days had a variety of weather Friday to Sunday this year.

The event started out with 91-degree temperatures and partly cloudy skies on Friday afternoon. The Queen’s Pageant crowned new ambassadors, Queen Alexis Hoefs, First Princess and Miss Congeniality Elizabeth Odenthal, and Second Princess Kaia Krocak.

Saturday started out with cloudy skies in the morning at mid-80 degree temps and a packed First Street for the Classic Car Show until approximately 11:20 a.m. when organizers closed Memorial Park and the Fire Department drove down First Street announcing a severe thunderstorm.

Car Show organizers adjusted to the weather and tried to hand out awards to the participants who hadn’t left, but the relentless wind and rain forced them indoors until the storm had passed.

According to localconditions.com, Montgomery received approximately 1.5 inches of rain over the course of an hour. By 1:15 the storm had passed and the park was reopened.

As scheduled, the Bohemian Tractor Pull attracted a crowd and the following teams pulled to a first-place finish: Open Division - Krocak Farms, Over 40 Division - Nut Buster’s, Women Division - Team Kaia, Youth Division - Half & Half, and Business / Organization Division - St. Paul Vulcans.

Mother Nature brought perfect weather for the last day of Kolacky Days and the Grand Day Parade. Under partly cloudy skies with temperatures around 75 degrees and humidity at 56 percent, the Bun Run and Kids Races were held.
